I like your Squared rectangle bridge plate over pass & the scrap load. I watch many videos of these on Gondolas & hopper trains in North America & Canada . This expresses my interest Strongly what you're doing I have Athearn scrap loads for the Gondola cars but want to add more to my large selection of these fleets + more recently with open coal hoppers , ballasts types. I like your layout & set up that's why i'm viewing all your videos earlier beginning's . Good progress, Great job here. 🛤️🛤️🛤️✅👍

I know I’m only watching this now but I knew it was coming…In previous videos I could see the warping as the trains would pass certain sections. I didn’t want to comment on it but obviously you noticed it too. I’ve had two layouts both no more…The second one had to go due to a badly warped Station area…number 3 is coming

The device for your automatic shuttling system, does that only work with Lenz controllers? Are there other items on the market? I use a Gaugemaster DCC controller.

Hi Richard - I will be insulating my loft soon before I continue with my layout. Like you I am putting 50mm Celotex betwenn the rafters and putting 9mm plywood over the top unlike yours. So I was wondering asit has been sometime now and with it being very hot at the moment, what is it like up in the loft at the moment. Likewise how has it been over the winters. Regards Chris

Congratulations! Honestly i would love to see videos on how you renovate your loft - as not everyone has a space ready to start a layout. So understanding how you renovate a space is really useful. As an additional content area, would love to watch videos on how you plan your layouts. Ie whats your thought process ect. Been trying to build one in anyrail, but get stuck for good ideas.

You’ve certainly got your work cut out for this project, I can foresee a few years work here, firstly make sure that the loft is fit for your work, then transferring the layout to new location.

Two responses: I've had great luck with DCCConcepts decoders, which were among the first to offer keep-alive at a reasonable price. Originally in Perth, Australia, now coming to you from England. I'd call them mid-priced. I've never invested in emergency stop. It's a button I can't find in an emergency stop button. Also, in some decoders, hitting emergency stop can shut down an entire layout, which is a disaster in a club environment. I compromise this by recognizing this is a model layout, not a full-size operational railroad. In a small model environment, you have to move quickly. I will program a reasonable amount of momentum for acceleration, but zero momentum for deceleration. That way, in an emergency, I can dial down to zero speed faster than I could find a button. Also, I am a big believer on potentiometer type throttles as opposed to encoders or other types of throttles that don't give you a firm stop. For the same reasons.

Saw this years ago and it inspired me to think repainting needn't be that hard. Got a compressor, airbrush, also a desktop spray booth... just getting my act together to start spraying paint around!
